HORSE RIDER SHOW INFORMATION
SILVER OAK JUMPER TOURNAMENT August 16th – 20th 2017
The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament will take place Wednesday, August 16 – Sunday, August 20, 2017. The competition, vendor attractions, food and festivities are all located at the beautiful Fieldstone Show Park located at 21 Plymouth Street in Halifax, Massachusetts just 28 miles south of Boston. The competition starts on Wednesday, August 16, and admission and parking are free Wednesday, August 16 – Sunday, August 20.
The Olympic-level feature class, “The Agero Grand Prix”, will take place on Sunday, August 20. The Management team of The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament suggests arriving on the show grounds by 10:30 AM on Sunday and the day should conclude by about 4:00 PM. There will be a wonderful array of food and refreshments available on the property. There will be $20.00 parking fee per vehicle—no incremental admission fees will be charged and there is plenty of parking. It is an exciting and visually stunning day for the entire family.
Show Jumping is the only Olympic-level sport where men and women compete as equals. It is the ultimate team sport, where the riders and horses must have a special almost mystical bond and mutual trust to succeed. The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is fortunate to attract many of the top horse and rider combinations from across the world. In 2015, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist McLain Ward fresh from his Gold Medal performance at the Pan American games, was amongst our athletes along with Kevin Babington and Paul O’Shea of Ireland, also an Olympian, Peter Leone another USA Olympian and silver medalist along with scores of others. Riders from Belgium, England, South America, Ireland, Germany, Canada and Mexico were all present and striving to be the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Grand Prix Champion. In 2015 it was Ireland’s Paul O’Shea who prevailed.
So bring family, friends and witness Olympic level competition in the World’s most beautiful sport.
THE SILVER OAK JUMPER TOURNAMENT
NOW A 501 (C) (3) CHARITABLE CORPORATION
From the founding of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, we have endeavored to support important charitable organizations. Historically the MSPCA, various therapeutic riding programs and children’s charities that benefit those who are seriously ill. In October of 2016, after a long and appropriately tedious application process, we have now been named a registered 501 (c) (3).
This has serious tax advantages for our numerous and critical sponsors without whom we could not put on an event of this magnitude. As “The Rider’s Horse Show” we want you to enjoy not just top sport, but the good feeling that comes from supporting an organization designed to do good things.
We are happy to announce today that we will be supporting Danny & Ron’s Rescue, and The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. This dove tails perfectly with the magnificent efforts of our perennial presenting sponsor, Victoria McCullough of the Davis McCullough foundation, who is singularly responsible for thousands of rescues and adoptions of horses otherwise destined for slaughter, and spearheading government efforts that have effectively banned horse slaughter in this country.
“The setting is lush green fields with inviting friendly settings for exhibitors and their children complete with a fun house full of toys. There are fanciful foods, beautiful sponsor autos, flowers and laughter. The Silver Oak should be renamed The Silver Heart because here horses and their welfare are the first consideration. Top competition blended with compassion and we’ve chosen two of the most meaningful charities saving horses from slaughter and dogs from unbearable abuse and neglect. It is the honor of The Davis McCullough to dedicate our unconditional support to this Iconic event” said Victoria McCullough.”
Danny & Ron’s Rescue
Danny & Ron’s Rescue speaks for helpless animals that have no voice. They began their rescue mission in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina by aiding dogs that were left homeless by the storm. Since then, their outreach has grown to heights never imagined. Now they are rescuing puppy mill dogs, bait dogs used in dog-fighting, and hundreds of dogs from shelters—often moments away from euthanasia. They currently deliver pet food and supplies to more than 48 elderly people living in poverty—and pay for their dogs’ medical bills, too. They have rescued dogs from junkyards and shelters, freed animals chained to trees and living in small cages, and saved abandoned pets living on the streets.
Danny & Ron’s Rescue is unlike any other rescue organization. Because an abused or neglected dog can only recover and learn to trust again when it is in a loving home, Danny and Ron have turned their own house into the ultimate safe haven.
The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center has placed more than 1,300 horses. Their work is not limited to one breed, and will help horses of all breeds, ponies, donkeys and mules for placement into new loving homes. Regardless of how they arrive at Omega, by way of neglect, auction or donation, their mission remains clear and constant: Educate horse owners on the true responsibilities involved in equine care; legislate the humane treatment of horses everywhere; and find appropriate homes for unwanted, abused or neglected equines.
As part of our program to support The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, and in cooperation with our great friend McLain Ward of Castle Hill Farm, we will be using our website and social media channels to auction off numerous championship coolers McLain won and has very generously donated to The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
“What Jeff has done with The Rider’s Horse Show, the SOJT, is truly unique and I know from firsthand experience with Jeff and participation in his show it is a labor of love. It’s on my schedule—August 16-20, 2017. Beyond that the fact that they support two of my favorite charities makes this very important for all of us”, said McLain Ward.
Please put us on your schedules and follow us on Facebook to get an opportunity to own a piece of our sports greatest memorabilia through the generosity of McLain Ward, and to help The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
