THE SILVER OAK JUMPER TOURNAMENT

Presented by The Davis McCullough Foundation

The 2nd Annual SOJT Farm Cup Brings a Fun, Friendly Competition to the Forefront

Now fast becoming a ‘must-ride’ and ‘must-watch’ aspect of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, this year’s SOJT Farm Cup attracted six teams who took on the challenge. The teams included the Babington BAs, Team Savage, Madison Maniacs, SKD (Seek, Kill, Destroy), Alamar AKs, and the California Rolls.

The SOJT Farm Cup follows the Nations Cup format, with teams of three going against the clock. The team with fewest faults and fastest time is the team to take home the top prize. This competition allows each team to drop the highest score (# of faults), and pick an anchor rider to compete in the final round.

The teams each had distinct color coordinated outfits to go with their name – specially designed shirts are provided to each team by Silver Oak. “I’m proud to feature the SOJT Farm Cup for the second year,” said Jeff Papows, chairman of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, “It is a very unique event that riders really enjoy,” he added. “Each year we are seeing more teams enter and the crowd really enjoys cheering on their favorites.”

Five out of the first six riders on each team earned clear rounds over the 1.20m-1.25m course, but as the rest of each team took to the course and the pressure mounted – fault free rounds became harder to produce. And by the end of the first round, it was the California Rolls alone who had produced all three clear rounds.

For the final jump off round, each team had an ‘anchor’ rider tackle the short course to see if they could move into the number one spot. Three of the teams posted clear rounds, but amidst loud cheering from the crowd assembled around the CMJ Jumper Annex, the California Rolls secured their place at the podium with the fastest fault-free time.

Final Standings:

1. California Rolls – Alle Durkin, Dyanna Rucco and Brigitte Harbers
2. SKD – Kaitlyn Parker, Alexandra King, Jordyn M. Friedman
3. Alamar AKs – Candice King, Deana Schenkel, Elizabeth Stroh
4. Babington BAs – Michael Janson, Brielle Biggins, Jennifer Platt
5. Team Savage – Sima Morgello, Serena Marron, Jonathan Corrigan
6. Madison Maniacs – Haley Bell, Renae Samay, Susan Kern Reaney

The California Rolls stand tall at the podium and celebrate their win.  This class was sponsored by Tom Curren Builders

Brigitte Harbers riding Havanna De Muze in the 1st round posted a fault-free time of 65.685 to establish the lead for the “California Rolls”  – ultimate winners in the SOJT Farm Cup
