2014 Fieldstone Show Park

Halifax, MA – July 1, 2014 – – This year’s Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, making the aggressive move this year to the beautiful, permanent facilities at Fieldstone Show Park, just 28 miles south of Boston, continues to prepare for this summer highlight event, scheduled from August 13 – 17, 2014. And, from all reports, the show is poised to surpass the already much heralded success of last year.

For Show Chairman and CEO, Jeff Papows, it all begins with the awards. “It makes me nuts when you go through all the effort to get to a horse show, work really hard, have some degree of success and prize money aside, big or small, you are handed this silly bit of a ribbon for all your hard work,” he said. “The management team at the SOJT have spent a lot of money to do the right thing, very large ribbons, tri colors for every division, coolers for the winners of every class, big or small, crystal and silver trophies you can proudly display that proclaim, ‘this was a big deal to me”

But it doesn’t end with beautiful ribbons and gorgeous trophies. “Through the generosity of our partner Herb Chambers we will again be giving away a brand spanking new Vespa Scooter,” Papows smiled.

Herb Chambers, the Official Auto of the SOJT, is once again offering this exciting Vespa for this year's show

1531Papows also noted the importance of the in-ring presentation. “Our top three athletes will step up to the podium, hear their National Anthem, their grooms will stand proudly behind them with their horses. This is the world’s most beautiful sport so let’s have the pageantry it deserves.  After all, the event will televised this year, courtesy of our friends at NESN,” he said.

The care and comfort of the competitors is at the top of the priority list at Silver Oak. Through the generosity of The Davis McCullough Foundation underwriting the critical support of the Mass Eye and Ear Institution who will be supporting the Rider’s tent and all the services and amenities associated with it. Victoria, through this wonderful foundation, has been a patron saint of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament from day one.  We are in her debt once again and the staff at the Mass Eye and Ear has been wonderful to work with.

The VIP tables for this year’s event sold out in days, so to accommodate any last minute requests, we then added an additional inventory of high top tables of six. Now, because of the overwhelming popularity of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, even these new tables are now completely sold out.

mspca510There is still an option remaining for Sunday ringside. There are still a few tables available for the very special MSPCA luncheon to be held ringside for the big day on Sunday. You can join them for their Charity Luncheon in support of the MSPCA’s Equine Programs. Your ticket will include admission and parking into the horse show as well as a keepsake MSPCA Equine Center wrist band and seating for the luncheon. You’ll have a great view of the Grand Prix Field, where you’ll be able to view a parade of the MSPCA’s horses just prior to the Grand Prix event. These last tables available are priced at $125 per ticket or buy a Reserved table for 10 for $1000. Tickets are NOT available at the gate, so buy now!

By the way, our dining experience will be made all the more special through two new and important Plymouth based sponsors, Plymouth Winery, www.plymouthwinery.com/  and Mayflower Brewing Company, www.mayflowerbrewing.com/. “These important sponsors codify omayflowerur commitment to the local community, and as our ‘Official Wine,’ and ‘Official
Beer and Ale,’ add a lot to the Sunday experience and to our Rider’s tent as well,” said Papows. “We have also partnered with Plymouth Bell Cruises for our Friday night dinner cruise.”

This year, the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament welcomes a brand new Bleachers sponsor, Equestrian Estate Planning Services. “With this sponsorship, we’re able to assure those that will be using General Admission seating that their experience will be greatly enhanced with comfortable and covered seating,” Papows noted.

The grounds at beautiful Fieldstone Show Park are in almost perfect condition leading up to this eastwesatyear’s tournament. Scott Clawson is hard at work adding a second brand new all-weather GGT sand and fabric ring that will run parallel to our VIP seating.  Spectators will be able to watch the Grand Prix Field on one side and the new CMJ Sporthorse LLC Jumper Annex on the other, all from that one raised location. This new ring features all the latest drainage and materials and is 275 feet long by 185 feet wide, large enough to host a Grand Prix should weather challenge us at any point.  Mike Waidlich from East – West Arena Construction is on property ensuring weeks of lead time, testing and preparation.  “The quality of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament ring surface is my first, last, and 24/7 priority.  I take great pride in what we do and the partnership with Silver Oak and Fieldstone Show Park is a watermark for us,” said Mike Waidlich.

Unicorn Landing Farm, a private farm in Wellington FL owned by Dr. Marcia Radosevich, PhD is a new sponsor for 2014. “we are delighted to welcome them as sponsors of the Grand Prix Field.

“Our Show secretary, Charlene Brown, tells me entries are coming in strong, and most exhibitors are choosing to register online @www.equestrianconnect.com/, or www.horseshowing.com/ of course looking for the August, Silver Oak Jumper Tournament,” said Papows. “There are both premium, meaning frame tent stabling options, as well as traditional pole tents, but it’s best to get entries in quickly to optimize your choices.”

Stephens-Equestrian-Designs-Logo-2011b“We also need to rave about the incredible preparations being made by Steve Stephens to ensure our jump inventory is world class. With Steve, we can be assured the jumps are freshly painted and haven’t been jumped a million times this year,” Papows said. “I can’t believe how much work this is for Steve, who despite his busy schedule is selecting every piece that will grace our two rings.”

If you haven’t made your entries for the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament yet, now’s the time. Don’t get shut out of this year’s tournament. We are sticking to a strict 500 horse maximum and with entries pouring in, that number will be reached in the very near future.
