Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Show Info
The management of The Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show and The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament have decided to merge the two events. We are happy to announce that the June 2020 Show will be a combined event—The Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show and The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament—taking place at Ox Ridge. Upon reflection, we have very logically determined our ideologies, wishes and desires for the sport are very closely aligned.
The Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show organization has long hosted a historical horse show since 1926. In 2019 the Ox Ridge Charity Horse Show has been designated as an UESF Heritage Competition”. Ox Ridge, the property has just undergone a multimillion-dollar expansion to include new rings, club house and amenities not common to any other property.
The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament was founded eight years ago by Jeff Papows on the premise of something different, more gracious, with quality in everything from footing to course designers to relaxed schedules and hospitality being of great importance. It has many times been recognized by the NARG, (North American Riders Group), as one of the country’s finest jumper shows. Televised for seven years now in partnership with NESN (New England Sports Network) it has done much to promote the sport.
Both organizations are registered 501c3 charities. Silver Oak’s support of animal rescue efforts have been a mainstay of its mission as has been the case at Ox Ridge. There is almost a cosmic justice to this marriage.
“I have shown there for years and realized not only is it located closer to many of our International athletes, but more important; their management philosophies and mine are wildly simpatico. I’ve so enjoyed my time there as a competitor, and the place is just beautiful and at the same time very intimate. I was blown away last year with all the property improvements. I have learned that working with nice people of a common mindset, is key to motivating everybody involved, which is the reason for the move”, said Jeff Papows.
“We at Ox Ridge have long admired the great production value, National acclaim, quality, and great reviews of the Silver Oak product. The heart and soul of something designed for riders by riders and in support of the animals we all love, it’s perfect.” said Flavia Callari, member of the Ox Ridge Show Committee.

THE SILVER OAK JUMPER TOURNAMENT NOW A 501 (C) (3) CHARITABLE CORPORATION
From the founding of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, we have endeavored to support important charitable organizations. Historically the MSPCA, various therapeutic riding programs and children’s charities that benefit those who are seriously ill. In October of 2016, after a long and appropriately tedious application process, we have now been named a registered 501 (c) (3).
This has serious tax advantages for our numerous and critical sponsors without whom we could not put on an event of this magnitude. As “The Rider’s Horse Show” we want you to enjoy not just top sport, but the good feeling that comes from supporting an organization designed to do good things.
We are happy to announce that we will be supporting Danny & Ron’s Rescue, and The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. This dove tails perfectly with the magnificent efforts of our perennial presenting sponsor, Victoria McCullough of the Davis McCullough foundation, who is singularly responsible for thousands of rescues and adoptions of horses otherwise destined for slaughter, and spearheading government efforts that have effectively banned horse slaughter in this country.
“The setting is lush green fields with inviting friendly settings for exhibitors and their children complete with a fun house full of toys. There are fanciful foods, beautiful sponsor autos, flowers and laughter. The Silver Oak should be renamed The Silver Heart because here horses and their welfare are the first consideration. Top competition blended with compassion and we’ve chosen two of the most meaningful charities saving horses from slaughter and dogs from unbearable abuse and neglect. It is the honor of The Davis McCullough to dedicate our unconditional support to this Iconic event” said Victoria McCullough.”
Danny & Ron’s Rescue speaks for helpless animals that have no voice. They began their rescue mission in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina by aiding dogs that were left homeless by the storm. Since then, their outreach has grown to heights never imagined. Now they are rescuing puppy mill dogs, bait dogs used in dog-fighting, and hundreds of dogs from shelters—often moments away from euthanasia. They currently deliver pet food and supplies to more than 48 elderly people living in poverty—and pay for their dogs’ medical bills, too. They have rescued dogs from junkyards and shelters, freed animals chained to trees and living in small cages, and saved abandoned pets living on the streets.
Danny & Ron’s Rescue is unlike any other rescue organization. Because an abused or neglected dog can only recover and learn to trust again when it is in a loving home, Danny and Ron have turned their own house into the ultimate safe haven.
The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center has placed more than 1,300 horses. Their work is not limited to one breed, and will help horses of all breeds, ponies, donkeys and mules for placement into new loving homes. Regardless of how they arrive at Omega, by way of neglect, auction or donation, their mission remains clear and constant: Educate horse owners on the true responsibilities involved in equine care; legislate the humane treatment of horses everywhere; and find appropriate homes for unwanted, abused or neglected equines.
As part of our program to support The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, and in cooperation with our great friend McLain Ward of Castle Hill Farm, we will be using our website and social media channels to auction off numerous championship coolers McLain won and has very generously donated to The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
“What Jeff has done with The Rider’s Horse Show, the SOJT, is truly unique and I know from firsthand experience with Jeff and participation in his show it is a labor of love. It’s on my schedule—August 16-20, 2017. Beyond that the fact that they support two of my favorite charities makes this very important for all of us”, said McLain Ward.
Please put us on your schedules and follow us on Facebook to get an opportunity to own a piece of our sports greatest memorabilia through the generosity of McLain Ward, and to help The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
